ABOUT JIM

A builder, a leader,
and a lifelong learner.

I’ve worked as a software engineer, technical consultant, architect, product owner, and engineering leader. Each role has shaped how I understand the connection between people, systems, and results.

My career has taken me through healthcare, FinTech, and logistics. Healthcare is especially meaningful to me: well-designed software can make everyday work easier for the people caring for others.

Creating the conditions to succeed

Leadership means understanding people’s strengths and motivations, giving them the resources and context to act, and trusting them to do meaningful work. When someone is struggling, I look at the environment, the work, and the team as well as the individual.

I coach emerging leaders on communication and influence, help them explore the tradeoffs between technical and management careers, and prepare successors. I stay in touch with former colleagues to support their growth.

Curiosity beyond work

I live in the Atlanta area with my family. I enjoy reading, especially science fiction and fantasy, being outdoors, hiking, and strategy games. I like approaching problems from several angles and learning enough to explain the tradeoffs clearly.
